Morgan City places 13th in Division II at state swim meet

Morgan City High School’s boys swim team finished 13th in Division II men’s team scoring at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Louisiana High School Athletic Association Swimming State Meet Saturday.
Individually, sophomore Jean Pat Dupuy finished 10th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.37. He had advanced to finals action after finishing ninth in preliminary action with a time of 24.08.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Dupuy placed 13th with a time of 1:09.
In preliminary action, he finished 10th with a time of 1:05.88.
Morgan City senior Carter Arcemont also participated in the 100-yard breaststroke. He finished 20th in 1:19.96.
Morgan City also competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard individual medley relay.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Morgan City finished 10th in the finals with a time of 1:45.90, more than two seconds faster than their entry time and an improvement on their preliminary time of 1:46.57.
In the 200-yard medley relay, Morgan City finished eighth with a time of 2:01.97.
In preliminary action, the Tigers placed seventh with a time of 2:00.53, besting their entry time by more than a second.
The Tigers’ relay team consisted of seniors Ethan Aucoin, Arcemont, Dupuy and junior Hunter Gaspard.
