Patterson advances to Class 3A quarterfinals

One Tri-City area prep football team remains in contention for a championship after the second week of playoff action.
No. 4 Patterson held on to defeat No. 13 Loranger, 16-14, in Class 3A regional round action.
The Lumberjacks will continue postseason play this Friday when they host No. 5 seed Jennings (9-3) in a 7 p.m. contest. Jennings defeated No. 12 seed Westlake 38-13.
In Division 4, No. 1 ranked Vermilion Catholic (11-0) eliminated Central Catholic (5-7) 34-0 and advance to host St. Mary's of Natchitoches in the quarterfinals this week.
