Patterson defeats David Thibodaux

Patterson High School defeated David Thibodaux 3-0 (26-24, 25-10, 25-21) in District 2-IV action on the road Thursday.
Patterson had 14 aces in the win.
Erykah Singleton led the squad with eight kills and one dig, while Arian Grogan had three aces, six kills and two assists.
Other top contributors included Madison Paul, five aces, one kill and three digs; Tapanga Haven, two aces, one dig and 10 assists; and Casie Boudreaux, three aces, one kill and two digs.
Meanwhile, Patterson finished 1-3 this weekend at Highland Baptist’s tournament, knocking off Franklin 2-0 (25-20, 25-21) but falling to Highland Baptist 2-1 (25-22, 22-25, 10-15), Lafayette High 2-0 (25-11, 25-10) and First Baptist 2-0 (25-15, 25-8).
First Baptist came into the game ranked the No. 9 team in Division V, according to the latest unofficial Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division V power rankings.
No individual statistics were available.
Patterson (7-14 overall, 1-3 district) will return to action today when it travels to face West St. Mary in a district contest. Junior varsity action will begin at 4 p.m., followed by varsity.
Elsewhere, Berwick, Morgan City and Central Catholic will resume volleyball action today.
Berwick (9-11) will host Thibodaux. Junior varsity action will begin at 4 p.m., followed by varsity at 5 p.m. and freshman action at 6 p.m.
Morgan City (9-13, 1-2) will host E.D. White. Freshman action will start at 3:30 p.m., followed by junior varsity at 4:30 p.m. and varsity at 5:30 p.m.
Central Catholic (12-18, 0-1) will return to action today when it travels to face Covenant Christian in District 6-V play. The meeting will feature varsity at 4 p.m.
