Patterson looking to win third straight Friday

The Patterson Lumberjacks look to win their third straight contest when they host North Vermilion in District 8-3A action Friday.
After starting the season 0-6, Patterson has won two straight, including the squad’s biggest win of the season a week ago, a 45-35 victory against one of the district front runners, Erath.
A week prior to that, Patterson (3-6 overall, 2-2 in district) snapped its losing streak with a 38-14 win against E.D. White
North Vermilion enters Friday’s game with a 2-7 overall mark and a 1-3 district record.
While the Patriots snapped a five-game losing streak two weeks ago with a 35-18 win against Franklin, North Vermilion fell last week to E.D. White, 52-28.
North Vermilion is averaging 23.3 points a contest and surrendering 32.9 points per game.
At Patterson, the Lumberjacks are led on the ground by junior Dontre Nicholas, who has rushed 134 times for 727 yards and four touchdowns.
Sophomore teammate Dajon Richard has added 71 carries for 342 yards and four scores.
Senior Hector Tolento leads the Lumberjacks’ passing game. He has completed 52 of 102 passes for 750 yards with five touchdowns and just one interception after seeing his first action in week 4.
Senior Jordan Butler leads Patterson’s receivers with 27 catches for 538 yards and four touchdowns, while Richard had 20 receptions for 324 yards and three scores.
Patterson is averaging 313.6 yards a game but surrendering 360.3 yards a contest.
The Lumberjacks average 22 points a game, and each of the past three weeks, the Lumberjacks have set season-highs for points scored.
Defensively, Patterson surrenders 29.6 points a contest.
Friday’s game will begin at 7 p.m.
