Patterson wins; CCHS, PHS second-round games set

PATTERSON -- No. 7 Patterson Lumberjacks advanced to the second round of the Class 3A boys' prep hoops playoffs with a 68-43 victory against No. 26 Evangel Christian Friday.
Patterson now will host No. 10 seed St. Louis Tuesday at 6 p.m. St. Louis advanced to the second round after defeating No. 23 Iowa 61-44.
In Class 1A, No. 13 Central Catholic, a 63-54 winner against No. 20 Tensas Thursday in Morgan City, will hit the road Monday to face No. 4 seed and defending Class 1A state champion Metairie Park Country Day in a 5 p.m. contest. Admission to that game will be $8 for adults and $5 for students.
Country Day advanced after defeating No. 29 Haynesville 77-40 Friday.
