Robertson throws no-no as Taco Bell wins in rout

Patrick Robertson tossed a no-hitter and nearly had a perfect game and Taco Bell routed Associated Pump and Supply, 19-1, in five innings in Swampland baseball action.
Robertson tossed a complete game, surrendering one earned run with one walk and eight strikeouts.
Offensively, Taco Bell (Berwick) scored two runs in the first and four each in the second and third innings for a 10-0 lead.
After Associated Pump and Supply (Ellender) scored a run in the top of the fourth, Taco Bell responded with nine runs in the bottom of the frame.
The game was called after the top of the fifth inning due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Taco Bell outhit Associated Pump and Supply, 10-0.
Ryan Hover led Taco Bell with a 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs and two runs. Other top offensive contributors included D.J. Robicheaux, 1-for-1, two RBIs, a stolen base and a run; Kyle Boudreaux, 1-for-1, an RBI and a run; Reid Wiley, 1-for-2, a double, two RBIs and two runs; Ty Duthu, 1-for-2, two RBIs, a stolen base and a run; Collin Kulka, 1-for-2, two RBIs; Cameron Wiley, 1-for-3, two RBIs, a stolen base and two runs; Kyle Pitre, 1-for-4, a double, two RBIs, a stolen base and three runs; and Denver Jenkins, two RBIs and two runs.
Taco Bell (4-2) will return to action Monday when it travels to face Praxair (H.L. Bourgeois). Junior varsity is set for a 3:30 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 5:30 p.m.
BCG Services defeats Skipper’s
BCG Services defeated Skipper’s for Sports, 10-1, in Swampland baseball action Thursday in Morgan City.
BCG Services (Covenant Christian) took a 5-0 lead after two innings, and Skipper’s (Morgan City) scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth.
The visitors scored three runs in the top of the sixth and two more in the top of the seventh for the victory.
BCG Services outhit Skipper’s, 14-4.
Morquisse Charles led Skipper’s with a 2-for-3 performance with a double and an RBI, while Josh Lorenzo was 2-for-3.
Gage Hirschmann suffered the loss for Skipper’s. In six innings, he surrendered eight runs — five earned — on 11 hits with one walk, one hit batter and five strikeouts.
In junior varsity action, BCG Services defeated Skipper’s for Sports, 10-6.
While BCG Services took a 10-0 lead early on after scoring seven runs in the top of the first and three more in the top of the second, Skipper’s responded with a run in the bottom of the second and five more in the bottom of the third.
Each team had five hits.
Seth Canty led Skipper’s with a 1-for-1 performance with a double, an RBI and a run. Other top offensive contributors included Braxton Fontenot, 1-for-1, an RBI and a run; William LaRocca, 1-for-1, an RBI; and Maurice Martin and Mitchell Mancuso, an RBI each.
Martin started the game and suffered the loss. He surrendered four runs — all earned — on no hits with three walks and hit one batter. He was unable to record an out.
Skipper’s (2-4) will return to action Monday when it hosts Halimar Shipyard (Central Catholic). Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Praxair routs TrimCo
Praxair routed TrimCo Millwork and Supply, 12-2, in five innings in Swampland baseball action in Gray Thursday.
Praxair (H.L. Bourgeois) took a 5-0 lead after three innings, and while TrimCo (Patterson) scored two runs in the top of the fourth, Praxair responded with six runs in the bottom of the frame and one more in the bottom of the fifth to end the game via the 10-run mercy rule.
Jamey Fabre started the game and suffered the loss. In three innings, he surrendered five runs — four earned — on six hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Chad LaGrange led TrimCo with a 1-for-2 performance with a double, an RBI and a run, while Marcus Vining was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
TrimCo will return to action Monday when it travels to face Crawdaddy’s Seafood (Houma Christian). Junior varsity action is set for a 3:30 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 5:30 p.m.
Crawdaddy’s run-rules Halimar Shipyard
Crawdaddy’s Seafood (Houma Christian) run-ruled Halimar Shipyard, 17-7, in six innings in Swampland baseball action in Houma Thursday.
Brooks Thomas suffered the loss for Halimar (Central Catholic).
Offensively, Adam Dupuis led Halimar with a 2-for-4 performance with a triple and three RBIs. Other top offensive contributors included Ethan Whittington, 2-for-3, a double and two RBIs; and Thomas, 2-for-3.
Halimar (1-4) will return to action Monday when it travels to face Skipper’s (Morgan City). Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
