Weather promps cancellations and rescheduling of events

Inclement weather prompted the cancellation or rescheduling of area high school baseball games today, while another has been relocated.
The only local game that will be played today will be Patterson’s District 8-3A contest against Erath. However, that game has been moved to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field instead of in Erath.
Morgan City High School’s District 7-4A contest against Vandebilt Catholic, set for today in Morgan City, has been moved to Friday along with the retirement of Morgan City great Kenny Alfred’s jersey. The ceremony is set to begin at about 5:30 p.m. between the junior varsity and varsity contest. Varsity play is set for a 6 p.m. start.
Meanwhile, Central Catholic’s District 7-1A contest today at Hanson has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Franklin.
Elsewhere, Berwick High School’s nondistrict contest at Lakeshore High School in Mandeville has been rained out and will not be made up.
Track meet canceled
The annual Tri-City Relays that were set for today in Berwick has been canceled due to inclement weather.
