Baldwin 11-12-year-old All Stars earn berth in State Tournament

After posting consecutive victories over Golden Meadow and Terrebonne, the Baldwin 11-12-year-old All-Stars earned a berth in the Cal Ripken State Tournament at Broadmoor Park in Houma on Friday.
Baldwin opened the regional tournament with a narrow loss to Terrebonne (13-12) before bouncing back and notching victories over Golden Meadow (18-1) and Terrebonne (15-0).
With the victories, the Baldwin All-Stars gained a berth in this weekend’s Cal Ripken State Tournament in Houma.
Baldwin will open State Tournament action on Friday against Ascension at noon.
The Baldwin All-Stars consist of: Dorian Linscomb, Kobe Phillips, Bryson Abraham, Demondric Pierre, Ta’zhyon Brown, Devin Sanders, Jayvion Archangel, Deyontre Fusilier, Taylun Druilhet, Deontrey Jack and Cah’vion Alexander. Jazz Coleman, Steve Gibson and Hebert Bell are the coaches of the team.
TERREBONNE 13, BALDWIN 12
In the opener, the Terrebonne All-Stars held on for a 13-12 win over the Baldwin All-Stars.
Top performers for the Baldwin All-Stars included: Kobe Phillips, 2 for 2, walk, 3 runs; Ta’zhyon Brown, 2 for 4, homer, 3 RBI, 2 runs and Dorian Linscomb, 2 for 2, run.
BALDWIN 18, GOLDEN MEADOW 1
Deontrey Jack pitched the Baldwin All-Stars to the 18-1 victory over Golden Meadow. Jack earned the mound victory after working three complete innings recording four strikeouts.
Other top performers for Baldwin included: Ta’zhyon Brown, 2 for 2, homer, 4 RBI; Devin Sanders, 2 for 3, 2 runs; Cah’vion Alexander, 2 for 3, 2 runs and Demondric Pierre, 2 for 2, walk, 3 runs.
BALDWIN 15, TERREBONNE 0
Cah’vion Alexander earned the mound victory by hurling Baldwin to the 15-0 triumph over Terrebonne. Alexander worked three innings, allowing one hit while fanning six.
