Bertman to speak at benefit

Motivation for Life, A Night with Coach Skip Bertman, featuring the legendary former LSU baseball coach, will be held Jan. 25 at The Petroleum Club of Morgan City.
The event, which benefits St. Mary Outreach, will include a social/silent auction at 5:30 p.m., a meet and mingle with Bertman from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $75 apiece. Tables, seating eight to 10, also are available.
Tickets can be purchased at The Alumni Shoppe, Wildflower Boutique and St. Mary Outreach.

The silent auction will feature many signed LSU items, including a baseball, a bat and a baseball jersey autographed by LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri and Bertman and an LSU football jersey and a football helmet signed new LSU Football Coach Ed Orgeron.
In addition to serving as a LSU baseball coach, Bertman later served as the school’s athletics director.
As baseball coach, Bertman led LSU to five NCAA titles in 18 seasons.
He also was the head coach of the bronze-medal-winning 1996 U.S. Olympic baseball team.
