Berwick takes parish junior high meet titles

The Berwick Junior High School track teams swept the team titles at the St. Mary Parish Junior High Championship Relays April 1 at Geisler Stadium.
The Lady Panthers scored 158 points, while the Panthers had 156 points.
Berwick nearly swept the boys’ individual honors as Josh Carver was named Outstanding Performer and Kenan Jones, Field MVP. Morgan City’s Cade Minton was Track MVP.
On the girls’ side, Morgan City took two of the three individual honors as Alisha Singleton was named Outstanding Performer and Jadyn Walker was named Field MVP.
Berwick’s Lauren Cantrelle was named Track MVP.
Also, Cantrelle’s mark of 6:19 in the 1,600 meter run and Kloey Cuvillier of Berwick Junior High’s time of 13:20.79 in the 3,200 meter run both were new parish records.
