The Singles and Doubles Tournament were handicap and count all based on ringer percentages.
Class A: first place, Tim Gilmore, Bayou Vista, 6-1, 58.2; second place, Al Dodson, Morgan City, 3-2, 35.5; third place, Dudley Michel, Bayou Vista, 3-2, 50.5.
Class B: first, Burnie Williams, Morgan City, 8-2, 28.8; second, Jimmy Percle, Morgan City, 4-2, 29.5; third, Ryan Fryou, Berwick, 4-2, 21.5.
After regulation, Williams, Percle and Fryou were tied. Williams defeated Fryou in a 40 shoe game and then defeated Percle (drew a bye) in another 40 shoe game, giving him the class crown and sending him into the City Championship finals.
Class C: first, Lester Waguespack, Bayou Vista, 5-2, 16.2; second, Hilton Rhodes, Bayou Vista, 4-1, 14.4; third, Randy Giroir, Berwick, 3-2, 18.1.
After regulation play, the winners of each class met in a round robin to decide the Tournament and City Champion. First, Tim Gilmore, 2-0, Tournament and City Champion; second, Burnie Williams, 1-1; third, Lester Waguespack, 0-2.
Doubles City Championship
Nov. 8
First, Dudley Michel of Bayou Vista and Clyde Landry of Pierre Part, 8-2, 35.8; second, Burnie Williams of Morgan City and Julius Lovell of Bayou L’Ourse, 7-3, 17.3; third, Ryan Fryou of Berwick and Randy Giroir of Berwick, 5.5-3.5, 19.1.
After regulation, teams Michel/Landry were knotted up with team Williams/Lovell and forced a playoff. In a 50 shoe game, team Michel/Landry claimed the Doubles Tournament and City Championship titles.
