Centerville Stars win championship

MADISONVILLE _ The Centerville Biddy Basketball 12-year-old All-Stars won the Madisonville Biddy Basketball Invitational Tournament here January 30-31.
Centerville won the first tournament of the year by defeating Slidell in the finals by a score of 50-35.
With the victory, the Centerville All-Stars reached several milestones by becoming the first team from St. Mary Parish to win a New Orleans tournament by an average of 40 points along with becoming the first team from St. Mary Parish, Acadiana Parish or Iberia Parish to win a New Orleans 5-Star Tournament by an average of 35 points!
Team members of the Centerville All-Stars include: Jovan Robertson, Johnny Clark lll, Travis Zeno, Diamond Bourgeois, Braden Loustalot, Bryson Colbert, Dillon Monette, Brennen Chatman, J’Michael Gray, Nylan Francis, Gharin Stansbury and Davidion Bias.
Coaches of the Centerville Biddy All-Stars are: Byron Chatman, Coach Caleb Washington and Coach Johnny Clark Jr. Calvin Sanders is director of the Centerville Biddy Basketball League.
