District tournament schedule altered

Staff Report

District 3 tournament action for area Dixie Youth 10- and 12-year-old action was halted due to rain shortly after games began Thursday at Caffery Park in Franklin and never resumed.
The top of the first inning in the 10-year-old game between Patterson and Franklin and the 12-year-old contest featuring Morgan City and Patterson hadn’t been completed when the rain came, and ultimately, the day’s action was washed out. There was no score in either game.
With the inclement halting Thursday’s action, those games will be completed today as well as Thursday’s late games between Morgan City and St. Mary Central (10s) and St. Mary Central and Franklin (12s).
Meanwhile, on Saturday, action now will be doubled up with games originally scheduled for today being played in the morning and Saturday’s games pushed back to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
That means in 10-year-old action, Patterson will face Thibodaux at 10 a.m., followed by Franklin meeting St. Mary Central at noon.
St. Mary Central then will play Thibodaux at 4 p.m., followed by Franklin and Morgan City at 6 p.m.
In 12-year-old action, Morgan City and Thibodaux will play at 10 a.m., while Patterson and Franklin will follow at noon.
Later in the day, Franklin and Thibodaux will meet at 4 p.m., followed by Patterson and St. Mary Central at 6 p.m.
As of now, Sunday’s and Monday’s schedules will remain the same.
In 10-year-old action Sunday, Morgan City will face Thibodaux at 2 p.m., while Patterson and St. Mary Central will play at 4 p.m.
On Monday, Patterson and Morgan City will meet in 10-year-old action at 5:30 p.m., followed by Franklin and Thibodaux at 7:30 p.m.
In 12-year-old action Sunday, St. Mary Central and Thibodaux will play at 2 p.m., followed by Morgan City and Franklin at 4 p.m.
Morgan City and St. Mary Central will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, while Patterson and Thibodaux will close the tournament with a 7:30 p.m. contest.
