Franklin All Stars 10U advance to Dixie Youth World Series, outlast West Carroll
The bats were busy at Alexandria on Saturday, and when the dust cleared Franklin All Stars 10U had a 12-10 win over West Carroll in six innings.
The teams combined for 26 hits, including nine extra base hits.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the sixth, with eight lead changes.
Franklin All Stars 10U finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. Franklin All Stars 10U scored on a two-run double by Dylan Inzina, bringing home Ethan Judice and Daniel Ibert.
Ethan Judice went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for Franklin All Stars 10U. He singled in the first and second innings and doubled in the fifth inning.
The top of the first saw West Carroll take an early lead, 1-0. Brodie singled to ignite West Carroll’s offense. A single by Tanner then moved Brodie from first to second.
West Carroll posted three runs in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth. In the fourth, West Carroll scored on a three-run double.
Franklin All Stars 10U survived West Carroll’s surge and put up three runs of its own in the sixth.

A five-run explosion in the sixth inning hoisted Franklin All Stars 10U to an 8-1 win in six innings over West Carroll at Alexandria on Saturday.
Franklin All Stars 10U scored in the sixth on a solo home run by Alonzo Alexander, a sacrifice fly by Dylan Steiner, an RBI single by Landon Walden, an RBI single by Daniel Ibert, and a wild pitch.
Alonzo Alexander got a hit in each of his two at bats.
Ethan Judice baffled West Carroll, striking out 12 batters. Judice allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk over six innings.
The game’s last lead went to Franklin All Stars 10U thanks to a first inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on a groundout by Loren Wells.
West Carroll 15, Franklin 6The Franklin All Stars 10U fell 15-6 to West Carroll Friday at Alexandria despite Alonzo Alexander’s two-hit day at the dish.
Alonzo Alexander had two extra-base hits for the Franklin All Stars 10U. He doubled in the fourth and sixth innings.
West Carroll easily handled Franklin All Stars 10U pitching as six hitters combined for 17 hits, 13 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
West Carroll stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring three runs on a sacrifice fly by Jackson and two singles.
West Carroll put up two runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth. In the third, West Carroll scored on a two-run homer..
After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the third, the Franklin All Stars 10U faced just a 5-2 deficit. An RBI single by Nicolas Mire and a groundout by John David Hidalgo gave Franklin All Stars 10U life.
Three runs in the bottom of the fourth helped the Franklin All Stars 10U close its deficit to 7-5. An RBI single by Ethan Judice, an RBI double by Alonzo Alexander, and an RBI single by Dylan Inzina triggered Franklin All Stars 10U’s comeback.
West Carroll added six more runs in the top of the sixth. The inning got off to a hot start with a double of which was followed up by an RBI-single.
One run in the bottom of the sixth helped Franklin All Stars 10U close its deficit to 15-6. An RBI single by Dylan Inzina sparked Franklin All Stars 10U’s rally.
