GCW event set for Jan. 30

Staff Report

Morgan City Junior High School and Gulf Coast Wrestling are teaming up again for the seventh annual Super Slam Show Jan. 30th.
This show has been a huge success with attendance growing to more than 550 spectators the last three years, said “Mustang Mike” Beadle, a local wrestler and one of the founders of the show who will be defending the GCW Tag Team titles along with fellow local wrestler “Psycho Mike” Giroir.
Beadle said this show allows the school to gain revenue for projects and athletic programs to use where needed. Morgan City Junior High will receive all concession proceeds as well as a donation from GCW, Beadle said.
“It’s a win-win for the community, the school and GCW,” Beadle said. “The community and local sponsors always come forward to help promote a successful and fun show for all ages. GCW provides not only wrestling but fun for the kiddos by putting on contests, autograph signings, pictures with the wrestlers and free giveaways. Wrestlers come in from all over to help toward this show and lower their wrestling fee to help this great show.”
Tickets for the event, which features a 7 p.m. bell time, are on sale by calling 985-518-0433 or 985-397-1765. They also can be bought at the show.
Ticket prices start at $10.
Giroir and Beadle will be defending their title against the #1 Contenders.
Also, the GCW Heavyweight champion, Gil the Thrill, will be defending his title.
Additionally, such wrestlers as Wild Thing, Xtian Blake, Mexican Giant, Gold Dog, Cali Heat and Trucker Jones will be competing.
This show also will feature rookie woman wrestler Jessica making her debut.
