Hartleys win July 16 St. Mary Elite tourney

The St. Mary Elite Bass Club held a club tournament July 16 out of Myette Point in Franklin.
Taking home the top prize of $250 was the fishing team of Howard Hartley and his son Abram Hartley with a five-fish stringer weighing 13.89 pounds.
Abram Hartley caught the 4.67-pound bass that won the Big Bass prize of $95. The fish also earned them the Big Bass Progressive Pot (bass of 4.2 pounds or over) prize of $440.
Coming in second was the fishing team of Luke Fears and Joey Cannata. Their five-fish stringer was 11.85 pounds after a half-pound penalty for a dead fish. The team earned $90.
Third place prize of $35 went to the team of Hal Pinho and Hayden Pinho. Their five-fish stringer was 11.52 pounds.
The remaining teams in descending order of finish from fourth place were Rodney Marceaux and Doug White, Chris Thornton and Damien Clements, Adam Marceaux and Brad Guidry, Steve Bourgeois and Kevin Swiber, and Mike Burgess and Alex Falcon.
Team members are awarded points by order of finish towards the club’s Angler of the Year award. The members’ best five finishes of the year are used to determine the winner.
A first place finish garners 100 points, second gets 99 points, etc.
The current Angler of the Year standings in descending order and their point totals are:
