Hotard’s home run lifts Tigers to win

G&J LSU Tigers used a three-run home run by Garrett Hotard in the bottom of the fourth inning to rally from a 2-0 deficit for a 3-2 victory against Tiger Roofing Cardinals in Patterson Dixie Youth baseball action Thursday at Kemper Williams Park.
Hotard’s home run was to centerfield.
Hotard, who finished 2-for-2, also had a triple and a run scored along with three RBIs.
Hotard also pitched two innings for the Tigers and surrendered a run on a hit with three walks and four strikeouts.
Andrew Duval also pitched three innings and surrendered a run on two hits with four strikeouts.
Other top contributors for the Tigers were Dylan Blanchard, 1-for-1; and Jason Burgess, 1-for-2, a triple.
For the Cardinals, Reid Perkins led the squad offensively with a 2-for-2 performance with a triple and a run.
Reid Perkins and Joseph Larson both pitched for the Cardinals. In four innings, Perkins surrendered three runs on four hits with three walks and nine strikeouts, while Larson fanned three in his inning of work.
On April 7, G&J LSU Tigers defeated H.A. Pinho Construction Braves 5-3.
Jason Burgess hit a two-run home run to left field, finishing 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run. Garrett Hotard was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and two runs, while Andrew Cuvillier and Jarvis Jackson each were 1-for-2 and Andrew Duval scored two runs.
On the mound, Hotard pitched four innings and surrendered three runs on two hits with a walk and fanned 11, while Jason Burgess and Andrew Duval each pitched an inning with Burgess walking three and Duval fanning two.
In the loss, Kai Schexnayder connected on an inside the park home run. He finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run. Don Dias finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run, while Chad Lagrange was 1-for-2 with a triple and a run.
On the mound, Lagrange pitched three innings and surrendered two runs on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts.
Lewis Jones also pitched two innings and surrendered three runs on two hits with three walks and fanned two.
