Morgan City 9s finish as district runner-up

Morgan City’s 9-year-olds finished their all-star season as District 3 runner-up, falling to Franklin Sunday at Peltier Park in Thibodaux.
Because Franklin was undefeated and Morgan City had previously fallen to the western St. Mary Parish team, Morgan City had to beat them twice to win the title.
Morgan City fell in the only game played, 13-0.
No stats were available.
Morgan City advanced to Sunday’s game with a 14-12 victory against Thibodaux Saturday.
Gavyn Ramagos and Howard Kinchen led the Morgan City offense. Ramagos had a double and three RBIs, while Kinchen had a single, a double and an RBI.
Other top offensive contributors included, Tyler Stewart, a single with two RBIs; Jase Blanco, two RBIs; Maddox Pellerin and Andrew Cavalier, each a single and an RBI; and Tylon Hollins, a single.
On Thursday, Morgan City fell 16-6 to Franklin in both teams’ tournament opener.
Payton Pickens and Riley Lodrigue each had a single and an RBI for Morgan City, while Landon Gagliano and Stewart both had singles.
