Nicholls hosting Atchafalaya Intercollegiate

The Nicholls State University men’s golf team will begin its spring season today as the Colonels host the Atchafalaya Intercollegiate at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild Golf Course.
Eight teams will take on the par-72, 7,398-yard course. The two-day, three-round tournament began with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. today.
All eight members of the Colonel golf team will take part, with three playing as individuals. Sophomore Peyton McCulloch will head the Colonels’ lineup after qualifying at No. 1, followed by Andri Bjornsson, Lucas Sapin, Josh Fullilove and Chad Watts Denyes. Competing as individuals are Albert Badosa-Soler, Emil Ragnarsson and Jamison Thomassee.
In addition to Nicholls, Southland Conference members New Orleans and Incarnate Word will participate. Also competing are Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas-Pan American and Texas Southern.
The event is open to the public and live scoring for the entire tournament will be available at GolfStat.com and geauxcolonels.com.
