Patterson 10U All-Stars drop exhibition games

The Patterson 10U softball All-Stars finished 0-2 in pool play action Tuesday at the Babe Ruth Southwest Regional, falling to Hamburg, Arkansas, and Littlefield, Texas.
Against the Hamburg, Arkansas, squad, Patterson was winning 3-1 at one point, but the Hamburg, Arkansas, team rallied in the final inning for the win.
Hillary Pillaro pitched a scoreless inning for Patterson, while offensively, Patterson took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Pillaro, Mikah Ortiz and Ana Vaccarella scored Patterson’s three runs.
Vaccarella pitched two innings of relief.
Patterson had to play another game immediately after its first as the squad fell 11-3 to Littlefield, Texas.
Patterson assistant coach Patrick Skiles noted that the team was fatigued in the second game and also had problems with the heat and mistakes that hurt them. Patterson played its games at noon and 1:30 p.m., respectively.
In that game, Pillaro, Ortiz and Addie Lovell each scored a run for Patterson.
Pillaro pitched two innings in the contest, while Olivia Black pitched an inning of relief.
Tuesday’s two contests were exhibition games and were limited to an hour apiece.
Patterson will start double-elimination bracket play today when it faces host Magnolia, Arkansas, at 9 p.m. Magnolia is the defending Babe Routh Southwest Regional champion and this year’s Arkansas state champion.
