Patterson 10U softball all-stars fall 7-3

The Patterson 10U All-Stars rally fell short against Magnolia, Arkansas, at the Babe Ruth Softball Southwest Regional in Magnolia, Arkansas, Wednesday night as the squad fell 7-3.
While Magnolia, the host team, Arkansas state champion and defending Southwest Regional Champion, jumped out to a 7-0 lead after four innings due to walks and Patterson errors, Patterson rallied in its final at bat with three runs, getting runners on base via walks and using ground balls to bring them home.
Mikah Ortiz, Ana Vaccarella and Addie Lovell each scored a run for Patterson, while Kaylee Vining and Laila Dugar each had an RBI.
Magnolia’s one hit in the game represented the lone base hit for either team.
Hillary Pillaro suffered the loss for Patterson. In four innings, she recorded eight strikeouts.
In one inning of relief, Vaccarella had two strikeouts.
Magnolia scored a run in the second and third innings before plating four runs in the fourth and another in the fifth.
Patterson now will play an elimination game today at 5 p.m. against the loser of the Hamburg, Arkansas-Littlefield, Texas matchup. That game was played at 11 a.m. today.
