Patterson 12U All-Stars finish 1-2 at state tourney

The Patterson 12U All-Stars finished 1-2 at the Babe Ruth Louisiana State 12U Tournament this weekend.
After winning its opener against Twin Rivers, 16-13, Thursday, Patterson fell later Thursday to Kenner 15-2 in a run-rule contest.
St. Charles eliminated them Friday 17-6 in another run-rule contest.
Patterson coach Robert Marin said that it’s the first time in a few years Patterson has earned a win in the 12U division and he was happy they were able to win.
“We’re really happy that we were able to get one because we have a pretty small league compared to some of those teams that get to go,” Marin said.
St. Charles went on to fall in the championship contest.
He noted that both St. Charles and Kenner have bigger areas to draw players from than Patterson.
Against Twin Rivers, Patterson’s Kaitlyn Grogan led the squad with a 1-for-2 performance with two RBIs and three runs, while Aubreisha Augman was 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
Other top contributors included Maddy Harrington, 1-for-3, an RBI; Gabby Billiot, 1-for-3, two runs; Sarah Byrd, 1-for-1, two runs; Anastasjah Clossen, two runs and an RBI; and Emma Grace Marin, Makenna LaGarde and Patrice Bazile, two runs apiece.
