Patterson finishes third at national Biddy tournament

The Patterson 11- and 12-year-old Biddy Basketball All-Stars placed third in the AAA bracket at the Biddy Basketball national tournament in Slidell in March.
The area squad, which entered the tournament as the Region 1 Champions, finished 5-2 in tournament action.
In pool play, Patterson defeated the St. John Warriors 44-37 and JPRD 11s, 48-31.
Patterson next began play in the AAA bracket and defeated JPRD East 43-30 before falling to JPRD West, which sent Patterson to the loser’s bracket.
There, they came back with a 43-40 win against St. Charles and a 44-33 win against JPRD East before concluding the tournament with a 44-33 loss to Chester.
Patterson had two players named All-American, Elijah Williams and Kai Schexnayder.
Other team members included Khyre Willis, Caleb Evans, Ty’Jae Vaughns, Sklyer Louis, Amarea Christopher, Treylon Bennett, Javin Turner, Allen Langston, James Gash and Randy Paul Jr.
The team was led by head coach Terrance Johnson and assistant coaches Ricky Williams, Dalton Alexander, Brodrick Francis and Calvin Westly.
