Roy Invite begins Friday

The 12th annual Kenny Roy 7-8-year-old Invitational Baseball Tournament will be held Friday through Sunday at the Bayou Vista Community Center.
The event will feature six teams. In addition to Morgan City, Patterson and St. Mary Central All-Star squads, an all-star team from Franklin and two all-star teams from Thibodaux also will participate.
The tournament is held annually in memory of Kenny Roy, who died of leukemia 16 years ago.
Event proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society and St. Jude Children’s Hospital to help find a cure for cancer and improve cancer patients’ quality of life.
