Tournament format was blind draw, 90 percent handicap, and 40 shoe count all. The winners of each bracket would advance to play for top prize money and tournament championship.
Playoff: first place, Tim Gilmore, class and tournament champion; second place, Pat Pertuit, class champion; third place, Cheryl Matt, class champion; fourth place, Clyde Landry, class champion.
Class Clubs: first, Pat Pertuit of Marrero, 7½-1½, 55.0; second, Kevin Dore’ of Patterson, 4½-1½, 45.8; third, Burnie Williams of Morgan City, 3-2, 34.0.
Pertuit defeated Dore’ in a 40-shoe playoff game after being knotted up in regulation, give her class champion and sending her to finals.
Class Diamonds: first, Cheryl Matt of Lake Charles, 5-3, 23.1; second, Dudley Michel of Bayou Vista, 3-2, 51.0; third, Larry Pertuit of Marrero, 3-2, 27.0.
Class Hearts: first, Clyde Landry of Pierre Part, 5-4, 31.7; second, Ricky Richard of Church Point, 4-2, 43.3; third, Bill Seither of Buras, 3-2, 31.0.
After being tied in regulation, Landry defeated Richard in a 40-shoe playoff game; give him class champion and sending him to finals.
Class Spades: first, Tim Gilmore of Bayou Vista, 8-0, 62.8; second, Al Dodson of Morgan City, 4-1, 40.5; third, Tim Hayles of Berwick, 3-2, 28.1.
