Skipper's sweeps doubleheader

Skipper’s Sporting Goods (Morgan City) swept Crawdaddy’s Seafood (Houma Christian) in a doubleheader in Swampland baseball action at Tiger Diamond in Morgan City Monday.
Skipper’s won game 1 2-1 and followed it up with a 10-9 victory.
In game 1, Evan Stadalis finished 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Morrquise Charles was 2-for-2 with a double.
Rhett Fryou earned the game 1 win.
In game 2, Stadalis finished 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, while Colby Glatter was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Philip Hutchinson, 2-for-3, three runs.
Glatter earned the win in game 2.
Skipper’s (4-3) will return to action today when it travels to face the Diamondbacks (Terrebonne High).
Halimar Shipyard
edges Taco Bell
Blake Hidalgo earned the win on the mound and finished 1-for-3 with an RBI at the plate as Halimar Shipyard (Central Catholic) edged Taco Bell, 3-2 in Berwick Monday.
Halimar Shipyard struck early with two runs in the first and added another in the third for a 3-0 lead.
Taco Bell (5-4) countered with a run in the fourth and another in the sixth.
Tyler Longman and Samarick Paul led Halimar (4-3) offense as Longman finished 2-for-2 and Paul, 2-for-3.
Other top offensive contributors included Thomas Garber, 1-for-2, an RBI; and Adam Dupuis, 1-for-4, an RBI.
Austin Price suffered the loss for Taco Bell. In six innings, he surrendered two earned runs on nine hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Offensively, Bradley Gray was 1-for-2, while Cody Roberie, Brandon Fryou, Logan Angeron and Kyle Pitre each finished 1-for-3.
In junior varsity action, Taco Bell won 5-2.
Luke Felterman earned the win on the mound.
Offensively, Barrett Hover had two hits, while Seth Giroir finished with a double and an RBI.
Other top offensive contributors included Lucas Hatch, Zeph Hoffpauir and Patrick Robertson, each with a single and an RBI.
Taco Bell will return to action today when it makes the short trip to face Cardinal Lumber (Patterson). Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Halimar will hit the diamond again today when it hosts the Braves (H.L. Bourgeois). Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Cardinal Lumber
drops doubleheader
Cardinal Lumber (Patterson High) dropped a doubleheader with Synergy Bank (E.D. White) Monday at Patterson High.
In game 1, Cardinal Lumber fell 13-0, while game two was called in the top of six with Cardinal Lumber trailing 10-3 when the game was called due to rain.
In game one, Bryce Beaubouef had Cardinal Lumber’s lone hit. Brad Beaubouef suffered the loss on the mound.
No offensive stats were available for Cardinal Lumber in game 2.
Noah Bryant suffered the loss on the mound.
Cardinal Lumber (2-6) will return to action today when it hosts Taco Bell.
