Taco Bell defeats Bayou Boys

Cameron Wiley tossed a three-hitter and Berwick High-based Taco Bell defeated South Lafourche-based Bayou Boys 9-2 in a makeup game on the road Friday.
Wiley earned the win as he surrendered two earned runs, seven walks and fanned six in 4.2 innings.
Offensively, Taco Bell never trailed, scoring a run apiece in the first two innings.
While Bayou Boys scored a run in the bottom of the second, Taco Bell responded with one run in the fourth and three more in the fifth for a 6-1 advantage.
Bayou Boys scored a run in the bottom of the fifth, and Taco Bell scored a run in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Justin Morvant led Taco Bell with a 2-for-4 performance with a triple and two RBIs, while Andrew Askew was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Other offensive contributors included Bradley Gray, 1-for-3, an RBI; Braden Billiot, 1-for-1; Cody Roberie, 1-for-2; Tanner Caldwell, 1-for-3; and Nick Mayon, 1-for-4.
Taco Bell will return to action today when it hosts the Terrebonne High-based Diamondbacks. Junior varsity action is set for 5 p.m. with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Skipper’s Sporting Goods drops two games
Morgan City High-based Skipper’s Sporting Goods fell twice in two days in Thibodaux in makeup games this weekend.
On Friday, E.D. White-based Synergy Bank edged Skipper’s 7-6 in Thibodaux, while on Saturday, Thibodaux High-based Reeco Rental and Supply beat Skipper’s Sporting Goods 11-1 in five innings.
No individual stats were available from the contests.
Skipper’s (7-5) will return to action today when it hosts South Terrebonne-based South Louisiana Bank.
Other action
Other teams in Swampland League play today include Patterson High-based Frank’s Agency and Central Catholic-based Halimar Shipyard.
Frank’s Agency will host Bayou Boys, and Halimar will host Reeco Rental and Supply. Junior varsity in both games will begin at 5 p.m., and varsity will follow at 7 p.m.
