Ville Platte in Majors North Regional driver's seat

Ville Platte is in control of the Majors (12U) South Regional of Louisiana Dixie Youth baseball in Bayou Vista, while two other teams are vying for prime position in the North Regional in Bayou Vista after inclement weather delayed their contests by a day.
Ville Platte has outscored opponents 22- 9 en route to today’s fourth round rematch against Wally Pontiff at 7:30 p.m. Ville Platte’s route to the fourth round included a 6-1 victory against St. Mary Central Friday, a 4-3 victory against Wally Pontiff Saturday and a 12-5 win against Minden, Sunday.
A win today would put Ville Platte in Tuesday’s South Regional final, while a loss would leave Ville Platte, Wally Pontiff and the winner of the St. Mary Central/Minden contest today at 5:30 p.m. with one loss apiece, forcing a bye to be drawn to advance to the title game Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The other two teams would play beforehand at 5:30 p.m. to advance to the final.
In the North Regional, all of Sunday’s action was washed out due to rain. That action was played today, beginning at 9 a.m., while Monday’s action was set to follow.
The Sunday action played today included a winner’s bracket contest between Sabine and Vernon Nationals at 1 p.m.
In elimination contests, Cleary faced Monroe at 9 a.m., and Gonzales Nationals met Morgan City at 11 a.m.
The winner of the Vernon Nationals/Sabine contest will face the winner of the Cleary/Monroe game today at 7:30 p.m.
Earlier in the afternoon, the winner of the Morgan City/Gonzales Nationals contest will meet the loser of the Sabine/Vernon Nationals game at 5:30 p.m.
The championship in the South Regional will be played Tuesday in Bayou Vista.
