Developers moving north in Terrebonne Parish

GRAY, La. (AP) — Development in Terrebonne Parish is heading to higher ground.
Developer Henry Richard tells The Courier (http://bit.ly/1maUSY5) the focus has shifted to Terrebonne's northern areas.
Richard's Northpark development, just south of U.S. 90 in Gray, is a 146-acre project with 59 residential lots in its first phase and room to expand to 400.
Another recently completed subdivision is Williamsburg, off Bayou Gardens Boulevard north of Houma. This development has 68 lots in its first phase.
Terrebonne Planning Director Pat Gordon says many oilfield fabrication and service companies have moved north along the La. 311 and La. 24 corridors because of higher elevations there, and he expects more to follow.
Flood insurance for residential buildings isn't required there or will be much less expensive than in other parts Terrebonne.
