Drainage work to close highway

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — A portion of La. 308 near the Assumption-Lafourche parish line will be closed to vehicles until late Sunday afternoon.
Transportation officials said crews will be working to replace a drainage pipe under the roadway.
The closure was to take effect at 7 a.m. on Saturday. The highway is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Sunday.
La. 1 is the recommended alternate route.
