Driver shot to death while stopped at red light

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans police are investigating the fatal shooting of a driver who was stopped at a red light at an Interstate 10 off-ramp.
WVUE-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1wEE39a ) the shooting happened just before 1 a.m. Friday near the I-10-610 split at the westbound Franklin Avenue ramp.
Witnesses say the victim was stopped in a Mercedes Benz convertible when a man walked up and shot him, and then fled in a car.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police have not yet released his name.
