Staff Report

The Teche Project plans its third annual Shake Your Trail Feather event beginning at noon Saturday at Parc des Ponts de Pont Breaux (Bridge Park) in Breaux Bridge.
The festival raises funds to create projects and maintain facilities along the Bayou Teche Paddle Trail, which is a National Park Service recognized paddle trail.
The cost is free, however, the Teche Project is raising funds for the Paddle Trail by selling an official festival pin for $5.
Food, beverages and merchandise will also be available for purchase.
Concert performances will include David Greely and Meagan Brown from noon to 1 p.m.; Soul Creole, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.; and Geno Delafose & French Rockin Boogie, from 4 to 6 p.m.
A Heritage Stage is planned with historical/cultural interviews, bousillage demonstration, and an acoustic music set with Cajun musicians from the St. Bernard School.
Pack and Paddle is providing a kayak for raffle. Tickets will be $3 each and the winner must be present. Cajun Paddle will be partnering by hosting a “Paddle to the Party” event. Kayaks and canoes will paddle from Poche Bridge to the park with a floating band escort.
In addition, the first “Trail Feathers” bike event is scheduled. Paddlers and cyclists will receive complimentary items for attending.
