Unrestrained teen ejected, killed during crash in Terrebonne Parish

A 19-year-old man was killed when he was ejected from his vehicle in Terrebonne Parish shortly afer 6 p.m. Saturday, a Louisiana State Police news release stated.
The state police investigation revealed that a 2001 Ford Sport Trac was traveling north on Lower Country Drive in Bourg driven by Austin Neil, 19, of Montegut, police stated.
The Sport Trac failed to negotiate a right curve on Lower Country Drive and traveled off the left side of the road where it struck a guardrail.  After impacting the guardrail, police said the Sport Trac traveled across the roadway to the right and began to roll over several times.  Neil, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene by a Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office representative, police said.
Three passengers inside the vehicle, who were not wearing seat belts, received minor injuries in the crash, police said.
Alcohol use is unknown at this time, and routine toxicology tests are pending for Neil, police said.  This crash remains under investigation.
