Volunteer Lena Clements, right, and other volunteers sort clothes at the Bayou Vista Community Center Tuesday afternoon. The clothes were donated to go to victims of the recent flood that affected parts of south Louisiana. They began accepting donations Sunday at Elite Graphics in Morgan City and moved to the community center Monday. People who evacuated flooded areas may pick up clothes at the center from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. through Thursday. Water, toiletry items and baby products are also available. Donations of items will be accepted through Thursday. Especially needed are feminine products and other hygiene products. Volunteers ask that those affected by the flood make a list of what items they need so volunteers can get them those items. Everything not picked up by Friday will be loaded onto a truck and sent to affected parishes. Other places still collecting donations of supplies include the Cajun Coast welcome center, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Morgan City, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through Friday; Tiger Island Hardware at the old Royal Eagle building, 7397 La. 182 in Morgan City, from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. through Friday; and Holiday Inn Express, 704 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Morgan City, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday.
