The Central Catholic High School football team won its jamboree contest, 20-13, against Vermilion Catholic at the Iron Man Jamboree at Teurlings Catholic in Lafayette. Above, from left, Central Catholic’s Bailey Badeaux, Blake Byrne and Chris Singleton wait for Byrne to receive the snap on one of the Eagles’ scoring drives. The drive was capped by a Singleton touchdown. He had two scores in the contest. Central Catholic will open its season at home Sept. 1 against St. John of Plaquemine in a 7 p.m. contest.
