As part of the Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom program, members of Bayou Vista Garden Club recently read the book, “Chicks and Chickens” by Gail Gibbons to area students.
Bayou Vista Garden Club installed officers for 2015-17 during its May meeting. They are, from left, President Donna Bucci, Vice President Gloria Roy, Recording Secretary Jo Ann Ryan, Treasurer Janice Verret, Corresponding Secretary Annita Blanco, Historian Donna Richard and Chaplain Ann Breaux. Verdie Laws was installed as parliamentarian. The club will be on hiatus during the summer and meet again on Sept. 14.

Bayou Vista Garden Club’s May meeting was highlighted by the presentation of awards and installation of officers.
Bayou Vista Garden Club members Jo Ann Ryan, left, and Donna Bucci attended the Louisiana Garden Club Federation Annual Convention held April 22-23 in Westlake. During the convention, they toured Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center in Orange, Texas. During the tour they visited the Children’s Garden and the Blue Bottle Trees.
