B&G buys five more Taco Bells
B&G Food Enterprises LLC, a Morgan City-based franchisee of Taco Bell, announced Thursday that it acquired five operating Taco Bells in the Baton Rouge area from Taco Bell Corporate.
“With this acquisition, B&G increases our presence in the Baton Rouge Metro where we already operate one Taco Bell and have two under construction,” B&G CEO Gregory J. Hamer Sr. said in a news release.
“These restaurants fit well into our portfolio since we already operate in Baton Rouge and are expanding in that market,” Hamer said.
B&G is the largest Taco Bell operator in Louisiana and also operates restaurants in the Houston Metro and South Mississippi markets, the news release said. This acquisition brings B&G’s restaurant count to a total of 91 operating Taco Bells with seven additional restaurants under construction or in design, the release stated.
B&G is a franchisee of Yum! Inc. and also operates KFC and Long John Silver’s restaurants that are co-branded with Taco Bells. B&G was established in 1982 and employs over 2,300 people with their Restaurant Support Center and administrative offices located in Morgan City, the release stated.
