The Central Catholic High School softball team received its Class 1A state championship rings during an awards ceremony at the Yvonne Anne Adams Life Center Friday. Above, team members and coaches show off their rings. Central Catholic finished its championship season with a 26-3 mark, topping Cedar Creek 6-4 in the 1A title game on May 2. Local football teams got some much needed preseason work Saturday at Central Catholic’s annual 7-on-7 tournament at the school’s practice field.

Central Catholic will host its annual 7-on-7 tournament Saturday at the school’s practice field. The five-team tournament will begin at 9 a.m. and continue with games until 2:30 p.m. In addition to the host school, other local schools participating include Berwick and Patterson as well as Franklin.
