CCHS honors baseball, track teams

Central Catholic High School honored its baseball and track and field teams during an awards ceremony at the school Tuesday.
The baseball team finished its season with a 23-5 mark and advanced to the Class 1A semifinals where it fell to St. Edmund, 8-1.
Meanwhile, the track and field teams advanced three competitors to state and finished with two podium finishes as Samarick Paul won the Class 1A long jump and Sal Grizzaffi finished third in the 3,200-meter run.
Below are award winners for each sport:
Girls Track
—Academic All-District: Alexandra Aucoin, Hallie Autin, Alyssa Landry and Sydney Williams.
—District Awards: Autin (100-meter hurdles, runner-up, and 300-meter hurdles, district champion); and Williams (long jump, fourth-place, and triple jump, fourth).
—Region II-A Awards: Autin (100-meter hurdles, participant, and 300-meter hurdles, runner-up); and Williams (long jump, participant, and triple jump, participant).
—State Awards: Autin (300-meter hurdles, finalist).
Boys Track
—Academic All-District: Kyle Autin, Cole Baker, Luke Cunningham, Matthew David, Sal Grizzaffi, Cade Minton, Tyler O’con, Samarick Paul and Tanner Wiggins.
