Bowers earns all-conference honors

A Berwick High alum and Green Mountain College volleyball player was named to the North Atlantic Conference’s second-team All-Conference squad.
Celeste Bowers, a 5-foot, 4-inch sophomore libero, was named to the list earlier this month.
After having Green Mountain College’s first setter recognized by the NAC on its All-Conference Second Team last year, Bowers represents the Eagles’ first defensive player to earn post-season honors within the conference.
Bowers led all NAC players in digs per set (4.35) and was second in total digs with 87, while tying for the conference lead in service aces with 16.
Bowers burst onto the scene during her freshman season last year, ranking fourth in the NAC in overall digs per set with 3.66. She claimed NAC Rookie of the Week honors in the first week of October for a week in which she dug up 36 attacks while adding eight service aces.
NAC All-Conference honors are determined by a vote of the league’s coaches. Additional players are honored due to ties in voting.
Green Mountain College finished its season with a 1-18 mark, including a 0-6 mark in conference.
