Chenevert leads Tougaloo in loss to Southern

Southern University routed Tougaloo College, 81-48, Monday in Baton Rouge.
Southern (3-5), who led 15-11 after the first quarter and 33-25 at the half, used a big second half to pull away from Tougaloo (0-7). The squad outscored Tougaloo 48-23 in the second half to secure the win.
In the loss, Morgan City High School alum Casey Chenevert, a freshman for Tougaloo, led the team with 12 points. She also had three rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Tougaloo won’t return to action until Jan. 2 when it opens Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play by hosting Dilliard.
