Charles was arrested June 28, 2013, on the charges of attempted first degree murder and attempted armed robbery with a firearm, Hebert stated.
According to the arrest affidavit for Charles, on June 14, 2013, deputies responded to a call on Barrow Street in Amelia reporting that a person had been shot. The male victim was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. The victim told deputies he was in the area of the Greenwood overpass outside a lounge when three men attempted to rob him at gunpoint and one of the men shot him, the affidavit stated.
The victim was shot in the neck, and the bullet entered his chest piercing his lung, the affidavit said. The victim identified Charles as the person who shot him, the affidavit said.
Skinner was arrested July 16, 2013, in connection with the incident on a warrant for attempted armed robbery with a firearm.
Cagnolatti was arrested Sept. 24, 2013, on warrants for attempted first degree murder and attempted armed robbery with a firearm in connection with the case, according to Hebert. Hebert said Cagnolatti was believed to be actively evading law enforcement authorities and located him in Baton Rouge with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Office.
