A Patterson teen was arrested for indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Police say more charges are pending against Shundren Jones, 17, of the 1800 block of Cherry Street in Patterson. The female victims were ages 15 and 12, according to Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle
Jones was arrested on Tall Timber Drive in Patterson at 3:12 a.m. Sunday and remained jailed this morning with no bail set. The incident remains under investigation, LaSalle said.
LaSalle also reported the following weekend arrests:
—Dean Beranek, 27, of the 100 block of Burchfield Lane in Berwick, was arrested at 1:49 p.m. Friday on a city warrant for simple battery and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Beranek was arrested on Lipari Street in Patterson and later was released after posting $743 bail.
—Elizabeth Lewis, 23, of the 200 block of Jones Street in Berwick, was arrested at 3 p.m. Friday on a parish warrant for giving false information to an officer. She was released after posting $1,000 bail.
—Chane Favors, 38, of the 1500 block of Plum Street in Patterson, was arrested on Plum Street at 8:48 p.m. Friday for disturbing the peace by fighting and resisting arrest by force. Favors remained jailed this morning on $771 bail.
—Markita Turner, 23, of the 500 block of Duke Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. Saturday at a club on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Patterson for aggravated battery requiring medical attention. Turner remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Casey Lopez, 32, of the 1700 block of Kemper Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. Saturday at a club on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Patterson for simple criminal damage to property. Lopez remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Joseph Brown, 30, of Raceland, was arrested at 8:57 a.m. Sunday on Morgan City warrants for probation violation, two counts of failure to appear for driving while intoxicated and failure to appear for no driver’s license. He was arrested on O Street in Patterson and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.
—Dustin Guilbeau, 29, of the 1000 block of First Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:34 p.m. Sunday at First and Morey streets in Patterson on a Berwick warrant for theft under $100. He was transported to the Berwick Police Department.
—Kahnie Gaudet, 42, of the 100 block of Church Street in Patterson, was arrested at 11:40 a.m. Saturday at her home for disturbing the peace intoxicated. Gaudet was released on her own recognizance.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Michael Federer Jr., 23, of Berwick, was arrested at 1:42 a.m. Sunday for careless operation with a crash, expired driver’s license, three counts resisting an officer, battery on a police officer, public intimidation, disturbing the peace, simple assault on a police officer, and simple criminal damage to property.
Federer was involved in a crash in which he hit a house on Sixth Street in Berwick and became belligerent with officers on the accident scene, Richard said. No bail is set.
—Dustin Guilbeau, 29, of Patterson, was arrested at 5:55 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for theft. No bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following weekend arrests:
—Donny J. Richard, 42, of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested at 9:03 a.m. Friday for hit and run. Richard turned himself in at the Morgan City Police Department on an outstanding warrant regarding a traffic accident which occurred in November. He was released after posting bail.
—Sir Michael Climax, 24, of Pine Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:47 p.m. Friday for disturbing the peace by urinating in public. The incident occurred on Grove Street in Morgan City. He remained jailed this morning.
—Tyrin T. Watts, 19, of Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:48 p.m. Friday for possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer by giving false information.
—David D. Picou, 18, of Delmar Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:48 p.m. Friday and charged with possession of Schedule I (marijuana), distribution of Schedule I (marijuana), improper signal, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, firearm free zone (Shannon Homes), possession of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of Schedule III (codeine).
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to properly signal a turn and stopped the vehicle to investigate. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Picou, appeared extremely nervous according to officers and was frisked for weapons. The officer located a .22-caliber handgun in Picou’s possession.
Picou refused consent to search the vehicle when asked. The department’s narcotics canine was utilized and gave a response to the presence of the odor of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle, thus providing officers with probable cause for the search. The vehicle and the occupants were searched.
Inside the vehicle, officers located a container of suspected codeine, along with marijuana and paraphernalia. The passenger in the vehicle, Watts, was found to possess small cellophane bags of suspected marijuana, which officer learned were supplied by Picou.
Watts was released after posting $1,976 bail, while Picou posted $26,000 bail.
—Randy J. Segura Jr., 26, of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:39 a.m. Saturday for third offense possession of marijuana, second offense possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor
A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Myrtle Street after observing a traffic violation. During the stop, a rear seat passenger, Segura, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and items of paraphernalia. He also was in the company of a small child. He remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Larry L. Griffin Jr., 26, of Hickory Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:45 a.m. Sunday for second offense possession of Schedule I (marijuana), possession of paraphernalia and speeding 66/45.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling on La. 70 at a high rate of speed. The driver appeared to be nervous, at first consenting to a search and later recanting. A narcotics canine was utilized and a search was executed. Officers located a container of suspected marijuana and items of paraphernalia. Griffin remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Joseph E. Brown, 30, of Raceland, was arrested at 10:15 a.m. Sunday on warrants for failure to pay fine for no driver’s license, failure to pay fine for DWI, failure to pay probation fees and probation violation. Brown remained jailed this morning.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following east St. Mary Parish arrests:
—Bryson Skinner, 19, of the 1000 block of Grace Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:17 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle without a driver’s license. A deputy made contact with Skinner during a traffic stop on La. 182 in Amelia. Skinner was released after posting $299.50 bail.
—Shawn Lovell, 26, of the 1800 block of Rose Street in Berwick, was arrested at 12:03 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving while intoxicated. While responding to a complaint, a deputy made contact with Lovell and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Lovell was released on $3,500 bail.
—Nina Morgan, 32, of the 100 block of Rose Park Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:19 a.m. Saturday for possession of Schedule I narcotics (marijuana) and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor. She is also charged on a warrant for issuing worthless checks and on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of issuing worthless checks. No bail is set.
—Amber Lovell, 26, of the 100 block of Rose Park Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:17 a.m. Saturday for possession of Schedule I (marijuana), possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, and operating a vehicle without insurance. No bail is set.
A deputy responded to a residence on Rose Park Lane in reference to a complaint of damaged property. During the course of the investigation, the deputy observed marijuana inside the residence and learned of the warrants for Shawn Lovell, Amber Lovell and Nina Morgan. Five juveniles were at the residence at the time of the investigation.
—Glenn Rodrigue, 50, of Houma, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Saturday for following too close, possession of Schedule I narcotics, possession of Schedule IV narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a vehicle following the police unit too closely on U.S. 90 and conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, the deputy received consent to search Rodrigue’s person and located a bag of alprazolam pills and a bag of marijuana. Rodrigue remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Naomi David, 36, of the 400 block of Bush Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:13 p.m. Saturday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista where David was seen placing items into a container before attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. David was released on a summons.
—Anthony Bergeron, 47, of the 5400 block of Bayou Black Road in Gibson, was arrested at 1:48 a.m. Sunday for headlights required, improper lane use, resisting an officer and second offense DWI. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area saw a pickup truck travelling on La. 182 with only one working headlight. The deputy also observed the vehicle swerving onto the shoulder of the roadway several times. When the vehicle was stopped, the deputy observed the driver climb into the backseat. When the deputy instructed the driver to exit the vehicle, the driver repeatedly refused to comply. The deputy then opened the vehicle’s door and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Bergeron as well as seeing him swaying from side to side. No bail is set.
—Jose Luis Rodriguez, 29, no address given, was arrested at 2:03 a.m. Sunday for remaining where forbidden and unlawful possession of fraudulent documents. A deputy responded to a complaint of loitering in a parking lot at a business on La. 182 in Amelia. During the investigation, the deputy discovered a fake identification card in Rodriguez’s possession. No bail is set.
—Juan Ortiz, 34, of the 300 block Aristile Road in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 1:12 p.m. Sunday for theft of goods.
—Danny Echevarra, 33, of the 300 block Aristile Road in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 1:12 p.m. Sunday for theft of goods.
A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista where store personnel said Ortiz and Echevarra were seen taking items from the packaging and concealing the goods. The two men then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Both subjects were released on summonses.
—Jocelynn Boudreaux, 36, of Lafayette, was arrested at 4:21 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy made contact with Boudreaux during a traffic stop in Bayou Vista. She was released on a summons.
—Justin Bowyer, 21, of the 3800 block of Pharr Street in Berwick, was arrested at 6:58 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of DWI, no vehicle inspection and no seatbelt. Bowyer turned himself in. No bail is set.
—Sidney J. Bourque, 58, of Lafayette, was arrested at 12:48 p.m. Friday on two warrants for issuing worthless checks. A deputy made contact with Bourque on Sixth Street in Morgan City. Bourque was released on a summons.
St. Martin Sheriff Ronnie Theriot reported the following Tri-City area arrest:
—Tyler Chenevert, 19, of the 100 block of Derrick Road in Berwick, was arrested Friday for theft over $1,500 and simple burglary/movable or immovable.
