A 37-year-old Morgan City man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for operating a meth lab within 1,000 feet of a school stemming from a Feb. 14 complaint to police, Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
—Paul P. Guidry, 37, of Gen. Patton Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for creating or operating a clandestine lab for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance and creating or operating a clandestine lab for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of school property.
Guidry was located and arrested on an outstanding warrant regarding the alleged production of methamphetamine, a controlled dangerous substance. On Feb. 14, investigators received a complaint of a lab used to make the illicit substance. They identified Guidry as the suspect. Guidry was jailed with no bail set. The incident is still under investigation.
Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Jermoud E. Watts, 23, of Abbeville, was arrested at 10:46 p.m. Monday on a warrant for obscenity.
Watts was arrested at the parish correctional center and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on an outstanding warrant stemming from an incident which occurred in October 2013. Watts was accused of exposing himself to a female correctional officer during that incident, Banks said. He was jailed.
—Clauderious Darby, 25, of Grace Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:37 p.m. Tuesday for resisting an officer, possession of marijuana second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A patrolling officer observed a person who appeared to be looking into vehicles located in a David Drive parking lot. The officer approached the person to investigate. The person, identified as Darby, fled from the officer. Officers pursued the subject and located him. As officers approached again, he attempted to flee from the officer at which time he deployed a Taser device, Banks said. Darby was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and items of paraphernalia. He was jailed.
—Lisa C. Mclemore, 49, of Aucoin Street in Amelia, was arrested at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated second offense, child passenger restraint violation, possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and smoking prohibited in a vehicle in the presence of a child.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on La. 182 with a small child who was unrestrained. The driver was also observed smoking inside the vehicle with the child, which is prohibited, Banks said. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Mclemore. Mclemore exhibited signs of impairment, registered .182 grams-percent blood alcohol content on the Intoxilyzer 5000 test and was jailed.
—Kathy E. Schaub, 32, of Patton Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3 p.m. Tuesday for contempt of court.
Schaub was jailed and released after posting bail.
—Michelle L. Vedros, 24, of Gibson, was arrested at 12:02 p.m. Monday on a warrant from Terrebonne Parish for failure to appear at a probation hearing on the charge of simple battery. Vedros was located at Teche Regional Medical Center and jailed.
—Jermie A. Hanks, 36, of Arkansas Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:09 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to pay probation fees.
While investigating a complaint in the area of Arkansas Street, officers came into contact with Hanks. He was jailed.
—Traylon A. Grogan, 22, of Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:37 p.m. Monday for remaining where forbidden.
Grogan was located at a Second Street residence after officers were summoned to the residence with regards to Grogan refusing to leave the premises by the owner. Grogan was jailed.
—Rochelle B. Suire, 44, of Chestnut Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:27 a.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace by fighting.
—Taylor A. Murphy, 19, of Morgan City, was arrested at 9:27 a.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace by fighting.
Both Murphy and Suire were arrested after officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a Chestnut Drive address. Officers learned that both Suire and Murphy were involved in a fist fight prior to officers’ arrival at the scene which caused a disturbance in the area, Banks said. Both were jailed.
—Jody R. Cubbedge, 37, of Uranus Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace by fighting.
—Jessica L. Ross, 25, of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace by fighting
Morgan City police were dispatched to a disturbance at the corner of Sixth and Fig streets in Morgan City. Officers learned that Cubbedge and Ross were involved in an altercation which turned physical, Banks said. The disturbance was observed by residents in the area. Ross and Cubbedge were jailed.
—Kayla L. Comeaux, 26, of Morgan City, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. Friday on a warrant from the Patterson Police Department for failure to pay a fine for no insurance, a warrant for failure to pay a fine for no driver’s license and a warrant for failure to pay a fine for no license plate. Comeaux was located at a La. 182 business and jailed.
—Angel H. Montoya, 24, of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:39 p.m. Friday for no driver’s license and careless operation.
Officers responded to a vehicle crash on Victor II Boulevard in Morgan City. Montoya, who was identified as a driver involved in the crash, was found to be operating a vehicle with no driver’s license. Montoya was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Rita Vinning, 36, of the 100 block of Lydia Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:53 p.m. Tuesday for DWI first offense. Vinning was jailed with no bail set at this time.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Michael Wilkerson, 22, of Mars Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 10:57 p.m. Monday for driving under suspension and no license plate light. Wilkerson was released on $1,250 bail.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest:
—Wolfe Levy, 32, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:42 p.m. Friday on a warrant for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Levy was arrested by the Morgan City Police Department and transported to the Franklin Police Department. Levy was released on $250 bail.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 37 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Gary D. Martin, 58, of the 100 block of Bayou Boeuf Road in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 12:44 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone), and failure to signal 100 feet prior to an intersection.
Martin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from the Assumption Parish Jail on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics detectives in June 2013. During the investigation, narcotics detectives located the drugs and a gun inside the vehicle Martin was driving. No bail is set.
—Ricky Bradford Jr., 42, of the 5400 block of Bayou Black Drive in Gibson, was arrested at 9:04 p.m. Tuesday for tail lights required, suspended operator’s license, possession of Schedule I drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, entering contraband into a penal institution, misrepresentation during booking and on a warrant for a probation violation
A deputy patrolling the La. 182 in the Amelia area saw a vehicle with a tail light that was not operating properly and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Bradford, who was unable to produce a driver’s license. While speaking with Bradford, the deputy observed suspected illegal drugs inside the vehicle. The deputy located several small partially burnt synthetic marijuana cigarettes and rolling papers. Bradford was jailed. During booking, Bradford refused to provide information to the booking officer. Also, additional synthetic marijuana was located on him, Hebert said. No bail is set.
—Clayton Porter, 24, of the 400 block of Charlotte Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 11:39 a.m. Tuesday for possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy investigating an unrelated complaint made contact with Porter who was found to be in possession of a pipe. Porter admitted to the deputy that he used the pipe to smoke marijuana. Porter was released on a summons to appear in court May 22.
—Tanice Pate, 39, of the 300 block of Sandi Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Pate was released on a summons to appear in court May 22.
—Dulce Cabanilla, 23, of the 400 block of Charlotte Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday for simple battery. She was released on $500 bail. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a report of a medical emergency at a residence on Duval Street. The deputy received information that two females were involved in an altercation. The deputy determined that Cabanilla and another female were engaged in an argument when Cabanilla struck the victim several times. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and was later released. Cabanilla was jailed and released on $500 bail.
—Larry Hatfield, 24, of the 100 block of Choctaw Street in Charenton, was arrested at 2:36 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. A deputy responding to a complaint of a vehicle blocking the roadway on Myrtle Street in Bayou Vista made contact with Hatfield and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Hatfield was jailed and released on $344.50 bail.
