Arrest reports

Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Elizabeth M. Lasseigne, 34, of Prescott Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:07 p.m. Wednesday for driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, and possession of a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance (lorazepam).
An officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic fashion and stopped the vehicle in the area of Duke Street and Federal Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, Lasseigne, was found to be in an impaired condition, Banks said.
Lasseigne was provided a standardized field sobriety test, which she did poorly on portions, and then refused to complete the test, Banks said. She was jailed after refusing to take the Intoxilyzer 5000 test. She was also found to possess several lorazepam pills.
—Peter E. Grogan, 35, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for theft less than $500.
Grogan was located by officers on the corner of Arkansas and Barrow streets in Morgan City. Grogan was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 26 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Mykella Johnson, 27, of the 1300 block of Joseph Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:42 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for theft of goods. A deputy located Johnson at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. Johnson was released on $1,500 bail.
—Jeremy P. Gros, 32, of the 3600 block of Keith Street in Pierre Part, was arrested at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Gros was released on a summons to appear in court May 22.
—Clayton Porter, 24, of the 400 block of Charlotte Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 11:39 a.m. Tuesday for possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy investigating an unrelated complaint made contact with Porter who was found to be in possession of a pipe. Porter admitted to the deputy that he used the pipe to smoke marijuana, the report said. Porter was released on a summons to appear in court May 22.
—Tanice Pate, 39, of the 300 block of Sandi Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Pate was released on a summons to appear in court May 22.
—Dulce Cabanilla, 23, of the 400 block of Charlotte Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday for simple battery. She was released on $500 bail. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a report of a medical emergency at a residence on Duval Street. The deputy received information that two females were involved in an altercation. The deputy determined that Cabanilla and another female were engaged in an argument when Cabanilla struck the victim several times. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and was later released. Cabanilla was jailed and released on $500 bail.
—Larry Hatfield, 24, of the 100 block of Choctaw Street in Charenton, was arrested at 2:36 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. A deputy responding to a complaint of a vehicle blocking the roadway on Myrtle Street in Bayou Vista made contact with Hatfield and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Hatfield was jailed and released on $344.50 bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Jody R. Cubbedge Jr., 37, of the 100 block of Uranus Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday for simple assault. Cubbedge was jailed on $294 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—David Lightsey, 54, of the 2900 block of Sixth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday for driving under suspension. Lightsey was jailed on $1,000 bail.
