Arrests reports

An 18-year-old Morgan City woman was jailed Monday after striking a police officer in the face upon responding to a report of the woman screaming at people at a Freret Street residence, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
—Kaylee M. Payne, 18, of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:52 a.m. Monday for disturbing the peace, resisting an officer, battery of a police officer and possession of Schedule I synthetic marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers were dispatched to a Freret Street residence regarding a disturbance. Officers arrived to encounter Payne, who was screaming, causing a disturbance and using profanities, the chief said.
Payne was removed from the residence by officers at the request of the owner. A short time later, Payne returned to the residence and again, began to cause a disturbance, Banks said.
As officers intervened, Payne struck the officer in the face as he attempted to place her in handcuffs, Banks said. Payne was restrained and placed in the rear of a police unit. Payne continued to resist and attempted to break free of her restraints and leave the scene.
Payne was transported to the Morgan City Police Department and had to be escorted to a holding cell due to her combative and uncooperative actions, the chief said. Payne was searched by jail personnel and found to possess suspected synthetic marijuana as well as items of paraphernalia in her clothing, Banks said. Payne was jailed on $7,500 bail.
Banks reported the following arrests:
—Terrell V. Bullock, 21, of Seventh Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:05 a.m. today for simple robbery.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Federal Avenue and Greenwood Street in regards to a robbery. Officers arrived to locate a victim who reported to officers that Bullock, an acquaintance of the victim, had robbed the victim of money, Banks said.
The victim stated that Bullock pushed him against a structure in a threatening manner, demanding money from the victim. The victim reportedly surrendered $10 to the suspect who fled the scene.
Officers located the suspect in the area a short time later. Bullock was identified as the suspect and the money was recovered. Bullock was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Brandon T. Kent, 26, of Short Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:12 a.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to pay probation fee and a warrant for probation violation.
Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence located in the 200 block of Chennault Street and located Kent. He was discovered to be wanted on warrants for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City. Kent was jailed.
—Jeremy D. Williams, 33, of Ninth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:38 p.m. Monday for failure to signal a turn, possession of Schedule II crack cocaine fifth offense and no motor vehicle insurance.
An officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Marguerite Street and observed the vehicle fail to signal a turn. The officer stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver, Williams. Officers discovered suspected crack cocaine in plain view inside the vehicle and recovered it. Upon a further search, additional pieces of suspected crack cocaine were located. Williams was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Donnie Smith, 45, of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:01 p.m. Monday for theft by shoplifting value $9.38 and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 supermarket in regards to a shoplifter. Officers arrived to learn that Smith was suspected of concealing food items in his pants and was attempting to leave the store. The officer detained Smith as he was attempting to leave the store for questioning.
Upon further investigation, the item valued at $9.38, which the subject had concealed in his pants, was recovered by officers. Also located was a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics. Smith was jailed.
—Devon E. Marsh, 22, of Ciro Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:20 a.m. today for hit and run driving, careless operation and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license
Officers were dispatched to an Arizona Street residence regarding a hit and run accident. Officers discovered several garbage cans scattered about the street and several mailboxes damaged. Officers learned from witnesses that Marsh had been involved in a verbal altercation with another person at that location.
During the disturbance, Marsh is accused of speeding away from the scene driving his vehicle striking several mailboxes and garbage cans in the area. Officers contacted the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department, who located Marsh at his residence.
Marsh went to the Morgan City Police Department, was jailed and then released after posting $1,214 bail.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 166 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish or at the parish jail:
—Jason Driskill, 43, of the 2700 block of Casa Blanca Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 7:37 p.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a report of a possible battery at a residence on Casa Blanco Lane. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Driskill struck a female victim repeatedly while the victim was operating a vehicle on La. 182 in Patterson. Driskill was jailed with no bail set.
—A juvenile male, 16, of Patterson, was arrested at 2:44 p.m. Saturday for simple battery. A deputy responded to Teche Regional Medical Center in reference to a report of a possible battery. During the investigation, the deputy learned that the juvenile male struck a 15-year-old male victim at Patterson High School prior to the start of the school day. The juvenile male was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Juan Carlos Huerta-Avina, 34, of the 300 block of Aristile Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:04 p.m. Friday for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responded to a request to remove a man who was causing a disturbance at the Amelia Belle Casino. The deputy learned that Huerta-Avina made threats towards other people at the casino. Huerta-Avina was jailed and later released on a summons to appear in court Nov. 14.
—Christine Hughes, 31, of the 200 block of Vivian Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:41 p.m. Friday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks and on a warrant for two counts theft by fraud. Hughes was jailed with no bail set.
—Hope Martin, 37, of the 200 block of Fandal Street in Gibson, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Friday at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Bail is set at $100,000.
—Christopher Walters, 32, of Franklin, was charged at 4:57 p.m. Friday with battery of a correctional facility employee. Walters pushed a deputy working in a dorm at the parish jail. Walters, an inmate at the jail, remains incarcerated.
—Anthony Rink, 41, of the 100 block of Jupiter Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:37 p.m. Friday for violation of a stop signs and yield sign law and on a warrant for simple battery. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Southeast Boulevard and Delmar Avenue. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Rink, and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Rink was jailed and released on $750 bail.
—Felton Ceaser, 51, of the 9100 block of La. 101 in Iowa, was arrested at 7:59 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, speeding and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy patrolling the Franklin area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on U.S. 90. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Ceaser, and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Ceaser was jailed and released on $334.50 bail.
—Donald Busse, 47, of the 500 block of Watkins Street in Berwick, was arrested at 3:24 p.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responded to a request to remove a person from a residence on La. 182 in Bayou Vista.
The deputy learned that Busse made threats toward two people. While responding to the initial complaint, the deputy received a second report that Busse was causing a disturbance at Walmart in Bayou Vista. The deputy located Busse at the store and transported him to the parish jail for booking. Busse was later released on a summons to appear in court Nov. 14.
—Corey Mire, 26, of the 600 block of Seventy Nine Pines Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:37 a.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery. A deputy responding to a complaint on Seventy Nine Pines Lane made contact with Mire and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Mire was jailed with no bail set.
—A juvenile male, 15, of Berwick, was arrested at 10:17 p.m. Friday for possession of Schedule I synthetic marijuana with intent to distribute.
—A juvenile male, 14, of Morgan City, was arrested at 10:17 p.m. Friday for possession of Schedule I synthetic marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Shrimp and Petroleum festival grounds made contact with three juveniles near the railroad tracks off Front Street. Two of the juveniles were found to be in possession of synthetic marijuana. Following the investigation, both juveniles were released to guardians pending juvenile court proceedings.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Brandy L. Hocevar, 23, and Juanita Elliott, 49, both of the 300 block of La. 182 in Morgan City, were arrested at 9:51 p.m. Monday for disturbing the peace fighting.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest:
—Ebonie François, 27, of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 1:39 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace by fighting. François was released on $250 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
