A 18-year-old Berwick man was charged Friday for indecent behavior with a 12-year-old girl stemming from a report of an incident Oct. 20, Berwick Police Chief James Richard said.
—Shelly Stratton Jr., 18, of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 9:49 a.m. Friday on warrants for indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer aided solicitation of a minor. Stratton was awaiting bail to be set.
The arrest stems from an Oct. 20 complaint from Stratton’s mother, who found him hiding a 12-year-old girl in his room, Richard said. The mother was concerned some improper action had taken place and did not know who the girl was, Richard said. The girl left immediately from the residence, the chief said.
On Oct. 23, police received information that the 12-year-old girl said indecent acts did occur between her and Stratton in the bedroom when Stratton’s mother caught them, Richard said. The girl told police that she and Stratton had exchanged indecent photos of each other through the computer, Richard said.
Richard reported the following arrests:
—Sabrina Plessala, 42, of Jupiter Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:45 a.m. Friday for driving under suspension. She was released on $1,000 bail.
—Randy Plessala Jr., 42, of Jacob Street in Berwick, was arrested at 3:29 p.m. Friday on warrants for simple criminal damage to property and failure to appear for domestic abuse battery. He was transferred to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville.
—Kristie Blanchard, 37, of River Road in Berwick, was arrested at 3:19 a.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace intoxicated. Blanchard was released on $150 bail.
—Cade Poche, 23, of Smith Road in Lake Charles, was arrested at 12:53 p.m. Sunday for driving under suspension. Poche was released on $1,000 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrest:
—Tyler Davidson, 21, of Berwick, at 9:30 a.m. Sunday for possession of marijuana third offense, improper parking and drug-free school violation.
Police were dispatched to Sacred Heart Drive in regards to individuals sleeping in a vehicle. When officers arrived, they observed a vehicle parked against traffic. Officers made contact with Davidson, who was asleep along with another individual in the vehicle, Banks said. Suspected marijuana was found in Davidson’s vehicle, Banks said. Davidson was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 99 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Denise A. Chaisson, 52, of the 2600 block of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested at 9:15 a.m. Friday on a warrant for simple assault. A deputy located Chaisson at her residence on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into a confrontation that occurred on Oct. 16 during which Chaisson verbally threatened a female victim, Hebert said. Chaisson was released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 26.
—Eddie L. Brown IV, 41, of the 1300 block of Joseph Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:39 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear for payment on the charge of failure to possess a special ID card as a sex offender. A deputy transported Brown from the Terrebonne Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. No bail is set.
—Florencio Arias Jr., 45, of the 4000 block of Allison Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace and flight from an officer. A deputy investigating a complaint of a disturbance at a business on La. 182 in Amelia made contact with a subject in a vehicle.
After the deputy identified himself, Arias put the vehicle in drive and left the parking lot. The deputy stopped the vehicle on La. 182 in Morgan City and identified the driver as Arias. The deputy learned that Arias caused a disturbance at the business. Arias was jailed and released on $1,000 bail.
—Shazia Gaudet, 24, of the 100 block of Judy Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 9:39 a.m. Saturday for domestic abuse battery. A deputy investigating a complaint of a disturbance in the Patterson area learned that Gaudet punched and scratched a male victim during an argument. Gaudet was jailed with no bail set.
—Chandler Williams, 24, of the 400 block of Williams Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:27 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of failure to use a seatbelt and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy conducting a warrants check during the booking of Williams discovered the active warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.
—Mark Buteaux, 46, of the 100 block of Shady Grove in Patterson, was arrested at 4:14 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving while intoxicated. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area was approached by Buteaux who asked the deputy for a ride. The deputy subsequently learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Buteaux was jailed with no bail set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Darrel G. Sides, 40, of the 3000 block of Keith Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:05 a.m. Friday for disturbing the peace intoxicated. Sides was jailed with no bail set yet.
—Yvonne A. Carson, 40, of the 600 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Franklin, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Sunday for driving while intoxicated, open container, no driver’s license and license plate required. Carson was jailed with no bail set.
—Murphy Butler, 46, of the 1800 block of M Street in Franklin, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Sunday for driving while intoxicated. Butler was jailed with bail set.
—John P. Carmody, 18, of the 100 block of Lincoln Street in Patterson, was arrested 1:51 a.m. Sunday for driving while intoxicated and no seat belt. Carmody was jailed with no bail set.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest:
—Jimmy Billiot Jr., 17, of John Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:08 p.m. Saturday for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Billiot was jailed on $3,500 bail.
