Bayou L’Ourse man arrested for battery of a police officer

Staff Report
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Peter Junius Voisin, 45, of Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 1:04 a.m. Saturday for resisting an officer and battery on an officer.
Officers were summoned to the Holiday Inn regarding a disturbance. Officers arrived and were advised that a subject, identified as Voisin, was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises. Officers advised Voisin several times to leave, however Voisin refused. While officers were attempting to escort Voisin from the premises, he struck an officer and resisted the officer’s attempts to place him under arrest, Crouch said. Voisin had to be physically subdued by the officer, taken to the Morgan City Police Department and held.
—Nicole Mitchell Sanders, 27, of Aucoin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:27 a.m. Friday on warrants for disturbing the peace fighting, and window tint violation.
Sanders was already being held at the Morgan City Jail on outstanding warrants for City Court. She was booked and remains jailed. 
—Two female juveniles, 12 and 13, both of Morgan City, were arrested at 10:30 a.m. Friday for disturbing the peace by fighting
Police were summoned to the Morgan City Junior High School regarding a fight between two students. The students, according to witnesses, became involved in a fist fight and were separated by faculty members. They were taken to the Morgan City Police Department and released to family pending court proceedings.
—Shantell Nicole Thomas, 32, of Morgan City, was arrested at 3:40 p.m. Friday on warrants for criminal trespassing and disturbing the peace intoxicated
Thomas was located at the corner of Egle Street and Federal Avenue by officers and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department. She was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and held.
—Briony A. Daigle, 25, of Belle River, was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine for open container and no seatbelt.
Daigle was taken to jail and held.
—Crystal Niomi Aubuschon, 36, of Todd Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:43 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for contempt of court.
Aubuschon was located at Teche Regional Medical Center and arrested on an outstanding warrant for the City Court of Morgan City for failing to appear in a proceeding. She was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and held. 
—Heaven Daigle, 20, of Arkansas Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8 a.m. Saturday for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of a controlled drug in the presence of persons under 17 years of age, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Officers, while attempting to locate a runaway juvenile, were directed to a residence located in the 300 block of Arkansas Street. Officers received consent to search the residence for the runaway juvenile from the owner, Crouch said. The juvenile was located inside the residence. 
An occupant of the residence, Daigle, who was in the company of the juvenile, was found to be in possession of marijuana and items of paraphernalia which she identified as belonging to her. She was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and held. 
—Brennan Tabor, 25, of Chatsworth Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:50 p.m. Saturday for appearing in public intoxicated and three counts of resisting an officer.
Officers were summoned to the Holiday Inn regarding Tabor causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises. Officers arrived and gave Tabor an opportunity to leave the premises. Tabor began to create a disturbance in the front of the business and was subsequently placed under arrest, Crouch said. Once at the Morgan City Police Department, Tabor refused to cooperate with booking procedures and had to be physically restrained. He was taken to jail and held.
—Dai Thanh Nguyen, 33, of Filmore Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:43 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for a stop sign violation.
A Morgan City police officer working security at a local supermarket observed Nguyen, who he was aware was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Nguyen was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and released on bail. 
—Shannon Michell Zeringue, 39, of Apple Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:26 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace fighting.
—Opel Monique Lovette, 31, of Franklin, was arrested at 12:26 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace fighting.
Officers were summoned to a fight at the Waffle House on La. 182 in Morgan City. Officers located two females who had been involved in a fist fight causing a disturbance. Both Zeringue and Lovette were taken to the Morgan City Police Department and released after posting cash bail. 
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Brittany Walton, 23, of the 100 block of Mallard Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:59 a.m. Friday for theft of goods.
—Alicia Bertrand, 28, of the 600 block of Ninth Street in Franklin, was arrested at 11:59 a.m. Friday for theft of goods.
A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Walton and Bertrand were captured on video surveillance attempting to leave the store with an item without paying for it. Both were released on summonses to appear in court on Jan. 10.
—Tommy Mcnally, 43, of the 1300 block of Middle Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:44 p.m. Friday for theft, simple assault, criminal trespass and violation of the parish pit bull dog ordinance. A deputy responded to a complaint of harassment at a residence on Middle Road. The deputy learned that Mcnally entered a neighbor’s property without permission and took several pieces of lumber from the home. Mcnally also threatened to let his dogs loose upon a victim, Hebert said. He was being held this morning on $2,500 bail.
—Kenneth Green, 41, of the 100 block of Two Sisters Court in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:29 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area made contact with Green who was riding a bicycle on Arlington Street. While speaking with him, the deputy learned of the warrant for his arrest. Green’s bail is set at $8,740.81.
—Darin Hannigan, 35, of the 1300 block of Burke Place in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 12:43 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for theft over $500. The warrant stems from an investigation into an illegally cashed check that was reported stolen. Hannigan remained jailed this morning with no bail set. 
—David W. Johnson Jr., 26, of the 100 block of Shady Grove in Patterson, was arrested at 3:29 p.m. Sunday for driving while intoxicated, careless operation and expired driver’s license. A deputy responded to a single vehicle crash on Zenor Road in Patterson where he located the vehicle upturned onto the driver’s side. The deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Johnson’s breath. He performed poorly on the field sobriety test and later registered .22 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration on the breath test, Hebert said. Johnson remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Frank Singleton Jr., 30, of the 1400 block of Hickory Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:11 p.m. Sunday on a St. Mary Parish warrant for failure to appear for violation of protective orders. He was released after posting bail of $7,000.
—George Favors III, 46, of the 1600 block of Cherry Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. Friday for a Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole warrant for possession of oxycodone. He was being held this morning with no bail set.
—Leonard Yarborough, 52, of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 1:14 p.m. Sunday on a Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole warrant for possession of Schedule II narcotics. He remained jailed this morning in lieu of $10,000.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Kyle R. Riggins, 17, of the 1200 block of Columbus Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:32 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for theft over $500. No bail has been set.
—A male, 15, also on a warrant for theft over $500 at 8:32 p.m. Sunday.
Both arrests are in connection with a stolen bicycle.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest:
—Karen Jones, 45, of Cherry Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:14 p.m. Saturday on a warrant charging her with theft over $300. She was released after posting $1,000 bail.
