Emergency response training exercise underway at Shannon Elementary

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office is conducting a multi-agency active shooter emergency response training exercise this morning at M.D. Shannon Elementary School in Morgan City, a news release said.
There is a significant presence of emergency response personnel including police, firefighters, and paramedics on scene for training. The purpose of this training is to better ensure a coordinated, timely, and effective response to a critical incident should such an event occur in our community. The training exercise will last several hours, the release said.
