Man accused of indecent behavior with two girls
A 23-year-old Patterson man was charged Tuesday with indecent behavior with two girls, ages 5 and 12.
Jarroid Garrison, 23, of the 1700 block of Fern Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging him with two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. While assisting with the Franklin Mardi Gras parade, Patterson police observed Garrison in the crowd. Franklin police booked Garrison and transferred him to the Patterson Police Department. No bail is set yet.
The warrant stems from an incident in which Garrison allegedly inappropriately touched a 5-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl, police said.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Bobby Mouton, 41, of the 800 block of Tall Timber Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Friday on the charge of criminal damage to property under $500. Mouton remains jailed. Bail is set at $1,000.
—Keith B. Smith, 29, of the 400 block of First Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:12 a.m. Saturday on the charge of driving while intoxicated first offense by refusal. Smith remains jailed. No bail is set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 70 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Kelly Fontenot, 35, of the 500 block of Wheelis Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:12 a.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of improper lane usage, improper turn, and direct contempt. A deputy responding to an unrelated complaint made contact with Fontenot and located the active warrant for her arrest. Fontenot was jailed and released on $318.50 bail.
—Kenneth J. Moore, 66, of the 200 block of Shivers Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Monday on the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm.
—Raymond Rice, 56, of the 200 block of Shivers Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Monday on the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm and disturbing the peace intoxicated.
Deputies responded to a complaint of a disturbance involving guns at a residence in the Patterson area. Deputies made contact with Moore and Rice and learned that the two men used handguns to threaten each other during an argument. While speaking with Rice, deputies observed that he was intoxicated. Moore was released on a summons to appear in court May 4. Rice was jailed and released on $5,000 bail.
—Erin Jones, 30, of the 400 block of Henry Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:41 p.m. Monday on the charge of simple battery. A deputy responded to a report of a possible battery on Henry Street in the Patterson area. During the investigation, the deputy gathered evidence indicating that Jones slapped a teenage girl in the face during an argument. Jones was jailed with no bail set.
—Mark Buteaux, 48, of the 100 block of Shady Grove Street in Patterson, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday on the charges of burglary of an inhabited dwelling, disturbing the peace intoxicated, misrepresentation during booking and on a warrant for probation violation.
Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person at a residence on Teche Road in Bayou Vista. While en route, deputies learned that a male suspect was being detained by the homeowners. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the homeowners and the suspect, identified as Buteaux.
Deputies observed the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage on Buteaux’s breath. Deputies collected evidence indicating that Buteaux broke into a utility room of the residence and ate two cans of food. The homeowners stated they heard the noise, discovered the suspect, locked him in the room, and called 911.
Following the investigation, Buteaux was transported to the parish jail where he refused to give his identity to correctional officers. Also during booking, an active warrant for Buteaux on the charge of violating the conditions of probation was located. No bail is set.
—Tayler Davis, 17, of the 100 block of Natalie Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 3:09 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of illegal possession of stolen things.
On Tuesday morning, a deputy responded to a com-plaint of a burglary at a residence on Mercury Road in Bayou Vista. The deputy spoke with the homeowner and documented the evidence of the crime. Later that afternoon, while continuing his patrol duties in Bayou Vista, the deputy made contact with Davis.
Davis told the deputy he was in need of a ride, and the deputy offered to transport him. While loading Davis’ personal belongings into the unit, the deputy observed that some of the items matched the description of those reported stolen earlier in the day.
Continuing the investigation into the burglary com-plaint, the items were positively identified as those that were taken from the home. Davis was subsequently jailed with no bail set.
—Frederick J. Mosely Sr., 42, of the 100 block of Bernard Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of resisting an officer by giving false information and on warrants charging him with misrepresentation during booking and failure to appear on the charges of no insurance, no driver’s license on person, license plate not on display, failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle with an unlit license plate and on a Terrebonne Parish warrant for failure to appear on the charge of child support non-payment.
The warrant for misrepresentation during booking was issued after Mosely gave booking deputies a false name following a prior arrest in October 2014. A deputy patrolling Siracusa observed Mosely standing on Joseph Street. The deputy knew that Mosely had active warrants for his arrest. When the deputy made contact with Mosely, he gave the deputy a false name. Mosely was jailed with no bail set.
—Miguel Webb, 17, of the 1000 block of Grace Street in Siracusaville, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs.
—Kurwin Webb, 22, of the 1000 block of Grace Street in Siracusaville, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs.
—Ire Minor, 49, of the 1000 block of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs.
—Lantrell Ayers, 25, of the 200 block of Headland Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs.
A deputy observed a vehicle with a severely damaged windshield obstructing the driver’s view. As the vehicle turned onto Grizzaffi Street in Morgan City, the deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Miguel Webb, and three passengers, Kurwin Webb, Minor, and Ayers.
While speaking with the subjects, the deputy smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The deputy contacted the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit who indicated that there were illegal drugs in the vehicle.
During a search of the SUV, deputies located several marijuana cigarettes. Miguel Webb was also cited for view through windshield obscured and no driver’s license on him. Miguel Webb, Minor and Ayers were released on summonses to appear in court May 4. Kurwin Webb was jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Thompson R. Cox Jr., 65, of Baton Rouge, was arrested at 2:12 a.m. Saturday on a charge for appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.
Officers responded to the area of Railroad Avenue at First Street in regard to an intoxicated subject causing a disturbance on a passenger train traveling through Morgan City. The officers spoke with the train conductor who told officers there was an intoxicated passenger on board that was causing a disturbance.
The conductor told the intoxicated passenger to calm down but he refused to do so. The officer then made contact with the passenger, Cox, and officers believed he had been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated, Blair said. He was jailed.
—Antoinette O. Davis, 37, of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:40 a.m. Saturday on warrants for theft value over $750 and failure to appear for civil court.
Davis was located on On-stead Street near Federal Avenue where she was arrested on active warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Davis was transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
—Bradley S. Williams, 26, of New Iberia, was arrested at 4:47 p.m. Saturday on the charges of probation violation.
Williams, who was already incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail, was booked on an active warrant obtained by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court for probation violation. Williams was booked on the warrant and remains jailed.
—Gabrieo C. Boulanger, 26, of Sixth Street in Patter-son, was arrested at 9:38 p.m. Saturday on the charges of improper lane usage, driving under suspension, and no vehicle insurance.
A patrolling officer ob-served a vehicle crossing the fog line on U.S. 90 several times. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Boulanger. A driver’s license check revealed that Boulanger had a suspended license and that the vehicle did not have proof of insurance. Boulanger was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and jailed.
—Alyssa Ashmore, 26, of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:39 p.m. Saturday on the charges of disturbing the peace intoxicated simple battery, and possession of diazepam.
Officers responded to a local business in regard to an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. The officers arrived and were told by management and witnesses that Ashmore was inside the business causing a disturbance, being irate and struck one of the patrons.
The officers made contact with Ashmore, who was believed to have been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated.
Ashmore was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. While booking, suspected diazepam was located on her. She was jailed.
—Calvillo S. Garcia, 22, of Louisa Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:39 a.m. Sunday on the charges of driving while intoxicated, no driver’s license, and careless operation of a motor vehicle.
An officer responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Levee Road and Sixth Street. During the investigation, the driver of one of the vehicles involved was identified as Garcia. According to reports, Garcia did not have a valid driver’s license. Garcia was believed to have been drinking and appeared intoxicated. Garcia was transported to the Morgan City Police Department and submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 test yielding a blood alcohol concentration of 0.168 grams percent. Garcia was jailed.
—Jovon E. Johnson, 22, of Lafayette, was arrested at 5:25 p.m. Sunday on a war-rant for failure to appear for possession of marijuana and charges for possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice.
Johnson was located on Railroad Avenue near Fourth Street where he was arrested on an active warrant held by the 16th Judicial District Court. Johnson was transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail for booking where Johnson attempted to place suspected marijuana inside his mouth, Blair said. Officers retrieved the suspected marijuana and Johnson was jailed.
—Bennie A. Charles, 31, of North Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:44 p.m. Sunday on the charges of driving under suspension, no seat belt, and warrants for failure to appear to pay probation fee and probation violation.
A patrolling officer ob-served a vehicle traveling on Veterans Boulevard and the driver was not wearing a seat belt. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Charles. A warrants and driver’s license check was conducted, which revealed that Charles had a suspended license and that the 6th Ward Morgan City Court held an active warrant for him. Charles was jailed.
—Darren W. Watson, 51, of Lloyd Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:58 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear for speeding. Watson was located on Amber Street where he was arrested on an active warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Watson was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Valinda Otis, 34, of New Iberia, was arrested at 5:52 a.m. Friday on the charge of driving under suspension. Otis was released on bond set at $1,000.
